Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
  • RRT credential required (no CRTs or Respiratory Technicians accepted)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Comfortable working in adult critical care and trauma settings (ICU/CCU/ED)
  • Pediatric experience preferred but not mandatory
  • First-time travel respiratory therapists welcome
  • Must meet state licensure requirements for clinical practice in Maine

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory care across 3 Adult ICUs, Cardiac Critical Care Unit, Level II Trauma Center ED, Intermediate Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors
  • Manage airway and ventilator support, including invasive and noninvasive ventilation and ventilator weaning protocols
  • Perform ABG puncture and analysis, administer inhaled medications, and titrate oxygen therapies
  • Participate in code blue and rapid response teams — critical care response expected
  • Use and troubleshoot ventilators and devices such as Servo U/I, Hamilton T1, Trilogy, V60/V30, EV300, and Vero Biotech Nitric Delivery systems
  • Float to other trained units as needed and complete unit-specific orientation with RT Educator
  • Collaborate with Lead/Charge RT, Manager, Assistant Manager, RT Educator, and Medical Director to ensure protocol-driven care
  • Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic charting
