Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital or acute care setting
• Active NBRC certification (RRT) — current credentials required
• Active BLS certification (AHA preferred)
• Two professional references from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (within the past 12 months)
• Must be nicotine-free (facility is smoke-free); negative 10-panel + nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months of start
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Ability to complete BCI/FBI background prints within 48 hours of contract signing
• All certifications and credentials must be active and available at time of submission
• Preferred: experience with ventilator management, arterial blood gas interpretation, and critical care/pulmonary cases

Responsibilities / Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care to patients in the hospital respiratory unit as an experienced RRT
• Provide ventilator support and assist with ventilator management according to hospital protocols
• Monitor, assess, and document patient progress, response to therapy, and respiratory status
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (nursing, physicians, respiratory therapy leadership) to develop and implement patient care plans
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies safely and according to policy
• Participate in shift handoffs, communicate effectively with team members, and maintain clear documentation in the medical record
• Adhere to infection control, safety standards, and hospital policies; complete required orientation and annual modules as assigned
