Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of respiratory therapy experience preferred
- Current Respiratory Therapist credential or eligibility to practice in Ohio
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS knowledge strongly preferred
- Experience with ventilatory equipment, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and nebulizer treatments
- Ability to perform patient assessments, monitor response to therapy, and communicate effectively with the care team
- Strong clinical judgment, documentation skills, and attention to detail
Responsibilities
- Provide intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed
- Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans based on clinical needs
- Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive equipment
- Perform chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry, and capnography monitoring
- Assist with airway management, including tracheostomy care and endotracheal tube procedures
- Operate, maintain, and monitor mechanical ventilation equipment in an acute care environment
- Perform arterial punctures, EKGs, and pulmonary function studies as needed
- Document treatments, patient responses, and relevant clinical information accurately
- Communicate effectively during handoff and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff
