Join an on-site hospital respiratory therapy team as a Travel Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Jackson, Tennessee. This 13-week travel contract offers experienced respiratory therapists the opportunity to provide acute-care respiratory services across multiple age groups while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team in welcoming West Tennessee.

Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of recent respiratory therapy experience; travel respiratory therapist experience is preferred.
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; CRT credentials are not accepted.
  • Active Tennessee respiratory therapist license or compact-state eligibility at the time of submission.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Recent Epic experience within the past 18 months, clearly documented in the candidate profile.
  • Ability to successfully complete the required Epic competency assessment.
  • Clinical experience caring for adolescent, adult, pediatric, and geriatric patients is preferred.
  • Flexibility to float as needed and work required weekends and holidays.

Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy services in an acute-care hospital environment.
  • Administer aerosolized medications through oral inhalation, metered-dose inhalers, nebulizer treatments, and related delivery systems.
  • Deliver and manage oxygen therapy, CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy collar, T-piece, and other respiratory support modalities.
  • Perform airway management activities, including oral and nasal suctioning, airway placement, tracheostomy care, and intubation assistance.
  • Support mechanical ventilation management, including troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and assisting with ventilator weaning and extubation.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, incentive spirometry, EZPAP, IPPB, and other basic respiratory treatment therapies.
  • Interpret arterial blood gases and assist with arterial blood sampling procedures.
  • Collect sputum specimens and document respiratory assessments, treatments, and patient responses in Epic.
  • Collaborate with nurses, providers, rapid response teams, and other clinical disciplines to promote safe, timely patient care.
