Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a hospital/acute care setting
• Valid State of North Carolina RRT license or Compact RRT license (active at time of submission)
• Certification in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics
• COVID-19 and seasonal flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions considered with documentation)
• Two professional references from supervisors within the last two years
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (no local candidates) — targeted travel candidate requirement
• Ability and willingness to float to different units within the hospital as needed

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care and therapies to patients in a hospital environment
• Perform respiratory assessments, treatments, and therapies as ordered (examples include ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, airway management, and ABG interpretation)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Monitor and document patient progress, responses to therapy, and clinical changes in the electronic medical record
• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain respiratory equipment while ensuring adherence to infection control protocols
• Float to different units within the hospital as required and support critical care, med-surg, or step-down areas when needed
