Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Travel | Hospital – Hondo, TX (13-week)

Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – 13-week hospital assignment in Hondo, TX. Immediate openings for licensed SLPs with CCC-SLP and LTC/rehab experience to join our hospital-based rehabilitation team.

Job Details

  • Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 27, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
  • Role: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) – Hospital / Long Term Care (LTC) / Rehab setting
  • Shift: 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday (start between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM; flexible with DOR communication)
  • Hours per Week: 40
  • Positions Available: 2 travel SLP positions
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,990 – $2,140
  • Location: Hondo, TX 78861 — Texas travel SLP opportunity close to outdoor recreation and local culture

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Active Texas State License as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Minimum 1 year SLP experience; LTC or rehab experience required (new grads with Level II experience considered)
  • Experience with dysphagia (swallowing disorders), cognitive-communication, and adult neurologic populations preferred
  • Ability to supervise and mentor CFY or student SLPs
  • Strong clinical documentation, electronic medical records (EMR) skills, and compliance with ASHA/state practice acts
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • One professional reference required at time of submission

Key Responsibilities

  • Screen, evaluate, diagnose, and rehabilitate patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders (dysphagia)
  • Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans consistent with regulatory and clinical standards
  • Use standardized assessments and outcome measures to guide treatment and monitor progress
  • Provide skilled treatment, adjust interventions based on patient response, and record treatment minutes accurately
  • Complete timely and compliant documentation in the electronic documentation system (EMR)
  • Provide education, counseling, and discharge planning for patients, families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Obtain necessary DME, supplies, and referrals as indicated; coordinate continuity of care with case managers
  • Participate in required meetings, trainings, and professional development to support quality patient care
