Travel Ultrasound Job Details

• Location: Santa Monica, California
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,080–$2,240
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 26, 2026
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour evening shifts
• Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
• Weekend and Call: Rotating weekend standby coverage, including Saturday 3:00 PM through Sunday 7:00 AM; additional call may be required
• Patient Population: Neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Daily Volume: Approximately 11 studies per day across two ultrasound rooms
• Charting: Epic

Ultrasound Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, Sonographer, or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
• Previous travel assignment experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Current BLS certification
• Current ARDMS or applicable RDMS credentials, including abdominal and/or OB certification as required for the assignment
• Current license or credential eligibility to practice in California; applicable compact credentials must be in hand before submission
• Demonstrated proficiency with Epic, PACS, Philips equipment, and the Philips hard-stop workflow
• Competency in general diagnostic ultrasound, including abdominal, pelvic, vascular screening associated with general studies, neonatal head, and first-trimester OB examinations
• Competency with ultrasound-guided procedures, including thoracentesis, paracentesis, kidney and liver biopsies, and fine-needle aspiration
• Ability to perform M-mode neonatal studies
• Ability to participate in rotating weekend standby coverage

Ultrasound Technologist Responsibilities

• Perform accurate diagnostic ultrasound examinations for inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and procedural patients
• Complete general studies involving the abdomen, pelvis, renal system, thyroid, scrotum, superficial masses, aorta, gallbladder, liver, pancreas, spleen, bladder, and related structures
• Perform OB examinations, including first-trimester studies, fetal anatomical surveys, ovaries, uterus, and vaginal imaging
• Perform neonatal and pediatric examinations, including neonatal head and pediatric abdomen and pelvis studies
• Support ultrasound-guided interventional procedures such as thoracentesis, paracentesis, biopsies, and fine-needle aspiration
• Provide focused vascular imaging when performed as part of general diagnostic studies, including lower-extremity evaluations for suspected DVT
• Document examinations and findings accurately in Epic and PACS while following departmental protocols
• Maintain patient safety, image quality, equipment standards, and infection-control practices, including familiarity with high-level disinfection processes
• Participate in rotating standby and weekend coverage while collaborating with the broader imaging and patient-care teams
