ICU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse
- Location: Wichita Falls, Texas
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820-$1,910
- Schedule: 3 or 4 day shifts per week, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours: Scheduled for 84 hours every two weeks, with a 72-hour guarantee
- Orientation: 16 hours
- Electronic Medical Record: Epic
- Float Expectations: PCU, overflow, and ED hold areas as needed
ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; license must be in hand before the start date
- At least 2 years of recent ICU nursing or critical care experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred
- Recent Epic charting experience preferred
- Ability to provide nursing care in ICU, PCU, overflow, and ED hold settings, including assignments of up to 4 patients when needed
- Flu vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions may be considered
ICU Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit
- Monitor patient status, recognize clinical changes, and intervene promptly within scope of practice
- Administer medications and treatments, manage complex care plans, and accurately document patient information in Epic
- Float to PCU, overflow, and ED hold areas according to hospital and unit needs
- Safely manage patient assignments that may include up to 4 patients in designated areas
- Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support quality outcomes and continuity of care
- Educate patients and families while providing compassionate support throughout the care experience
- Maintain compliance with applicable clinical, patient safety, and documentation standards
