Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Lubbock, TX (16-Week Travel Contract)

Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Lubbock, TX | 16-week travel nursing contract. Join a Level II Trauma Center caring for adult and geriatric critical care patients in a high-acuity Neuro/Surgical ICU setting in West Texas.

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040 (Competitive travel nurse pay)
  • Location: Lubbock, TX 79410 — Lubbock nursing jobs, West Texas travel nursing
  • Facility Type: Short-Term Acute Care, Level II Trauma Center
  • Contract Duration: 16 weeks (Start: 4/20/2026 – End: 8/10/2026)
  • Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Employment Type: Travel Nurse, On-Site (ICU RN / Critical Care RN)

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU RN experience (Neuro ICU experience preferred)
  • Valid RN license required — Compact license must be in hand at submission
  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting
  • Ability to float between units and sister facilities as needed
  • Commitment to work 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • Dress code: solid navy blue uniform (scrub attire)
  • Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
  • Manage patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3 as assigned
  • Perform Neuro and Surgical ICU skills, including CVA/acute stroke management, external ventricular drain (EVD) care, ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care
  • Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, arterial and central lines; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
  • Care for mechanically ventilated patients, interpret ABGs, perform suctioning, and maintain isolation precautions/PPE
  • Document patient care accurately using Epic charting system and participate in required documentation workflows
  • Float between units as needed and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapy, and ancillary staff
  • Participate in orientation and complete required pre-start and annual competency modules
