ICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nurse – 16-Week Contract in Lubbock, TX
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) travel opportunity in Lubbock, TX 79410. 16-week critical care contract at a Level II Trauma Center for experienced ICU RNs with ACLS, BLS, and Epic EMR experience. Night shift travel nurse position focused on adult and geriatric critical care in West Texas.

- Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00), 36 hours/week
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU RN experience required; 2 years preferred
- Valid RN license; compact RN license accepted (travel nurse friendly)
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
- Experience with Epic charting system or Epic EMR preferred
- Neuro ICU experience preferred for neuro and stroke management
- Ability to float between units and sister facilities as needed
- Provide 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
- Availability to work 3 of 5 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year s Eve, New Year s Day
- Solid navy blue uniform or scrub attire required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality critical care to adult and geriatric patients in the ICU
- Manage patient ratios typically 1:2 or 1:3 as a critical care RN
- Float to other units as needed to support staffing and patient care
- Assess and manage neuro and surgical ICU patients: CVA/acute stroke treatment, EVD and ICP monitoring, lumbar drains, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery care
- Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips and continuous IV sedation
- Arterial line and central line insertion care and management
- Provide ventilator care, manage BiPAP/CPAP, interpret ABGs, and perform suctioning (ETT, NT)
- Maintain isolation precautions and adhere to PPE protocols and infection control standards
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and advanced practice providers to optimize patient outcomes
