  • Role: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Critical Care RN / Travel Nurse
  • Location: Peoria, IL 61605 (Illinois ICU jobs)
  • Setting: High-acuity ICU (8 beds)
  • Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Shifts per Week: 3 (36 hours/week guaranteed)
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 – $2,250
  • Employment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse position
  • Charting System: EPIC (experience with EPIC preferred)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active RN license in Illinois (or proof of application in process) — Registered Nurse required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ICU experience required (ICU RN, Critical Care RN experience)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
  • Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, and tracheostomy patients
  • Proficient in caring for sedated, ventilated patients and titrating vasopressors, sedation, and pain-control drips
  • Ability to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation as needed
  • Willingness to float to medical-surgical (MS) unit if required
  • Negative drug screen required

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients in an 8-bed ICU (critical care nursing)
  • Manage nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2–3 as an ICU RN
  • Administer and titrate ICU-level drips (e.g., Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitro, Levophed, Dopamine, Cardizem)
  • Provide PEG tube care/feedings, central line management, and tracheostomy care
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including RTs (24/7), house supervisors, and after-hours tele-health MDs
  • Utilize Phillips telemetry monitors and interpret cardiac rhythms (cardiac rhythm interpretation)
  • Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC (electronic medical records experience)
  • Follow hospital policies and maintain a professional, drug-free workplace (scrubs, any color permitted)
