- Position: ICU Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel Nurse / Critical Care RN
- Setting: 36-bed Intensive Care Unit (Level I Trauma ICU)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (travel contract)
- Start Date: April 6, 2026
- End Date: July 6, 2026
- Shift: Night shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Rotation: Required (minimum every other weekend)
- Floating: May float to TICU, Med/Tele, and MS units as needed
- Patient Ratios: Typical ICU 1:2 patient ratio
- Charting System: Epic (Epic experience preferred)
Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Active California RN license required (must be valid at time of submission)
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) required; NIHSS required
- Minimum 2 years recent ICU experience required; 3+ years preferred
- Experience in Level I Trauma ICU strongly preferred (critical care nurse experience a plus)
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Ability to provide a 7-year work history for verification
- Must be able to complete lab work within 3–5 days of signing
- All certifications must be in hand at time of submission
- Willingness to float to TICU, Med/Tele, and Medical-Surgical units as needed
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill adult and geriatric patients as an ICU RN / critical care nurse
- Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, traumatic brain injury, and post-neurosurgical needs
- Utilize and manage advanced ICU therapies and equipment, including ECMO, CVVHD/CRRT, arterial lines, ventilators, and other life-support technologies
- Interpret dysrhythmias, manage/monitor titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, and administer blood products
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, RT, pharmacy, physicians, rapid response) to coordinate critical care
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in Epic and follow unit policies
- Follow infection prevention, isolation protocols, and ICU safety standards
- Participate in scheduled weekend rotations and float assignments as required
