Required & Preferred Qualifications — Laboratory Leadership

  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory leadership or consulting experience overseeing Clinical and Anatomic Pathology (AP) labs
  • Proven operational leadership and lab management skills — experience stabilizing teams during change
  • Preferred: Experience with Epic Beaker implementation or LIS conversion
  • Preferred: Background in lab standardization, health system consolidation, or organizational redesign
  • Strong coaching, relationship-building, and change-management abilities
  • Ability to quickly build trust, empower teams, and communicate effectively with supervisors, physicians, and executive leadership

Primary Responsibilities — Laboratory Operations & Transformation

  • Stabilize and support a dedicated hospital laboratory team during organizational change and system-wide initiatives
  • Oversee day-to-day operations for Clinical and AP labs, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency
  • Bridge leadership gaps and foster clear communication between supervisors, pathologists, and hospital executives
  • Lead readiness planning and coordination for the Epic Beaker LIS transition, including workflow assessment and staff preparation
  • Assess current organizational structure, identify opportunities for redesign, and provide actionable recommendations to improve lab operations
  • Support supervisors and staff stretched by standardization efforts and system consolidation projects
  • Stabilize AP lab leadership coverage and ensure consistent clinical and administrative oversight
  • Deliver a clear, prioritized set of recommendations and an actionable 90-day plan for organizational structure and reporting
