Job Description
Position Summary
The IT Architect is responsible for defining, maintaining, and governing the enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and frameworks across the organization. This role ensures that technology platforms are integrated, scalable, secure, and aligned with business, clinical, and operational goals. The IT Architect provides strategic oversight for new technology initiatives, modernization efforts, and application portfolio decisions, translating complex business and clinical requirements into enterprise-level technical solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and evolve enterprise architecture strategy, standards, and frameworks

Ensure technology platforms are integrated, scalable, and aligned with business capabilities and organizational goals

Provide architectural oversight for new technology initiatives, modernization projects, and cloud adoption

Translate business and clinical requirements into enterprise-level technical solutions and roadmaps

Collaborate with stakeholders across IS, clinical, operational, and financial domains to align technology strategy with organizational objectives

Recommend innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable architecture approaches

Provide governance on technology investments, ensuring architectural integrity and compliance
-
Review major technology projects for architectural compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with enterprise goals

Facilitate Architectural Review Board (ARB) sessions and decision-making processes

Develop current-state and future-state architecture models, identifying gaps and actionable transition plans

Support application portfolio rationalization, infrastructure modernization, and digital transformation initiatives

Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, data, and application teams to ensure cohesive, secure, and reliable solutions

Advocate for secure-by-design principles, integrating privacy and security into architectural planning

Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct environmental scans, and lead proof-of-concept pilots for strategic adoption

Develop architectural artifacts, diagrams, and documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences

Conduct stakeholder briefings, executive updates, and technical deep dives to communicate architecture decisions

Contribute enterprise architectural insight to capital planning, vendor selection, and strategic IT initiatives
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

7+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, infrastructure, or applications
-
3+ years of leadership experience in cross-functional IT strategy, systems integration, or architecture governance
-
3+ years of experience in a healthcare delivery environment preferred
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a relevant field

Professional certifications such as TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Azure Architect
-
Experience with cloud architecture, data governance, and enterprise application integration in healthcare

Strong knowledge of security, privacy, and regulatory standards in healthcare IT
