Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
- At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Experience providing nursery and postpartum care
- Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain certification before the assignment begins
- Strong maternal-child nursing, assessment, communication, teamwork, and prioritization skills
Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes in condition, and promptly communicate concerns to the care team.
- Support newborn assessment and care in the nursery setting.
- Administer medications and treatments safely while following established clinical protocols.
- Educate patients and families regarding recovery, newborn care, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and coordinate care with physicians, midwives, and other healthcare professionals.
