Position Overview
Join a dedicated Labor & Delivery team as a Registered Nurse on an on-site travel nursing assignment in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. In this Minnesota travel nurse job, you will support patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care while collaborating with an experienced interdisciplinary team. Travel Nurse Job Details
- Specialty: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)
- Location: St. Louis Park, Minnesota, near Minneapolis
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,360–$2,480
- Start Date: October 10, 2026
- Assignment End Date: December 5, 2026
- Contract Duration: 8 weeks
- Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week, approximately 36 hours per week
- Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Weekend and Holiday Coverage: As needed
- On-Call: Not required
- Additional Expectations: Must be willing to float to the postpartum unit as needed; up to 7 days of requested time off
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Recent postpartum nursing experience
- Active Minnesota Registered Nurse license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Electronic fetal monitoring competency at the required basic and intermediate or advanced level
- Ability to work night shifts and provide weekend or holiday coverage as needed
- Strong clinical judgment, communication, patient care, and teamwork skills
Labor & Delivery Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients during labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Assess maternal and fetal status and recognize changes requiring prompt intervention
- Perform and document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Monitor and interpret electronic fetal monitoring according to facility standards
- Administer medications and treatments while following established patient safety protocols
- Support patient education, comfort measures, birth planning, and transition to postpartum care
- Collaborate with providers, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate individualized care
- Float to the postpartum unit as needed and provide appropriate nursing care within scope of practice
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote a safe, respectful patient experience
