Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Monterey, CA (13-week Travel Assignment)
13-week Travel Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Night shift in Monterey, CA. Guaranteed 36 hrs/week at a 13-bed LDRP family birthing center. Join a supportive team and advance your perinatal nursing career on California's Central Coast.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,740 – $2,890 (Travel Nursing Pay)
- Location: Monterey, CA 93940 – Monterey nursing jobs; enjoy ocean views, world-class dining, and outdoor recreation on the Central Coast.
- Setting: LDRP / Family Birthing Center (13 beds for L&D, Postpartum, and Recovery)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (March 29, 2026 – June 28, 2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7pm–7am) – Travel L&D RN night shift
- Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
- Type: Travel, On-Site – California travel nursing job
Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years recent Labor & Delivery experience (excluding training)
- At least 3 completed travel assignments required (no first-time travelers)
- Experience in LDRP, Mother/Baby couplet care, postpartum nursing, or similar perinatal settings
- EPIC charting experience required; please indicate date of last EPIC use on your resume
- Ability to circulate in the OR; scrubbing required for night shift
- Comfortable floating between L&D, Postpartum, PACU (recovering mothers), and mother/baby overflow units
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring; STABLE a plus
- Competent in titrating drips (magnesium, pitocin, insulin)
- Ability to work independently with limited staff on nights; serve as a resource for newer nurses
- Smoke-free facility: negative nicotine/cotinine test required (unless prescribed nicotine patch)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality labor and delivery nursing care for mothers and newborns in a Level 1 birthing center (32 weeks and greater; twin deliveries included)
- Circulate and scrub in the OR as needed (scrubbing required for night shift)
- Float between L&D, Postpartum, PACU, and mother/baby overflow units to meet clinical needs
- Manage and titrate IV drips (magnesium, pitocin, insulin) and respond to maternal-fetal changes
- Utilize EPIC for accurate charting, documentation, and handoffs
- Deliver patient- and family-centered care for a population with high expectations
- Work weekends, holidays, and potential on-call shifts for low census periods
- Act as a clinical resource and mentor to newer staff during night shift
- Participate in a 3-shift unit-specific orientation to ensure smooth integration into the team
