- End Date: February 7, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Scheduled Shifts: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights
- Orientation: Wednesday orientation for traveling clinicians
- Work Setting: On-site Labor & Delivery unit
Labor & Delivery Travel RN Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in Mississippi
- At least 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Previous experience using the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system
- Strong clinical judgment and the ability to remain composed in fast-paced maternity care situations
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Ability to work the full scheduled night-shift rotation, including weekends
Labor & Delivery RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum transition
- Perform maternal and fetal assessments, monitor patient status, and promptly communicate changes in condition
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with orders, policies, and professional nursing standards
- Support patients and families throughout labor and delivery by providing education, reassurance, and compassionate maternity care
- Recognize and respond appropriately to urgent or emergent obstetric situations in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Coordinate care with obstetric providers, anesthesia professionals, neonatal teams, and other interdisciplinary care team members
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, outcomes, and patient education in EPIC
- Promote a safe, respectful, and patient-centered Labor & Delivery environment
