Cath Lab Technician II (Travel) – San Marcos, TX | 13-week travel assignment; RCIS/RCES/ARRT/ARDMS required, 2+ years cath lab or interventional radiology experience. Join a dynamic cardiac cath lab team and support advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures in Central Texas.
Job Details – Travel Cath Lab Technician
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,600 - $2,790 (competitive travel pay)
- Location: San Marcos, TX 78666 (Between Austin and San Antonio; Central Texas)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (May 11, 2026 – August 9, 2026)
- Shift: 8 Hour Days (07:00 AM – 03:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40
- Employment Type: Travel, Full Time (Travel cath lab job / travel healthcare job)
- Setting: Cardiac Catheterization Lab – interventional cardiology / electrophysiology cases
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Diagnostic, Interventional Radiology, or Cath/EP Lab (Cath lab tech, cardiovascular technologist preferred)
- Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or related healthcare field preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS required (AHA only)
- PALS required for independent work at pediatric facilities
- One of the following certifications required:
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) – CCI
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) – CCI
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) – CCI
- Radiography (R) – ARRT
- Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) – ARRT
- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) – ARRT
- Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) – ARRT
- Abdomen (AB) RDMS – ARDMS
- Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN) RDMS – ARDMS
- Adult Echocardiography (AE) RDCS – ARDMS
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) – ARDMS
Key Responsibilities – Cath Lab / Cardiac Catheterization Lab
- Prepare the cath lab, imaging systems, sterile field, equipment, and supplies for cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
- Set up and operate cath lab equipment including IVUS, ICE, contrast injector, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, and LVAD devices
- Ensure accurate patient documentation, hemodynamic measurements, and ECG recognition during procedures
- Maintain strict aseptic/sterile technique throughout all procedures and follow infection control policies
- Serve as a clinical resource and preceptor for junior technicians and technologists; promote teamwork and department efficiency
- Collaborate with interventional cardiology teams, Cath Lab Lead/Coordinator, and peri-procedural staff to ensure efficient patient care
- Act as radiation safety representative for patients and staff and adhere to radiation safety protocols
- Participate in daily room checks, supply stocking, instrument maintenance, and patient transport as needed
- Adhere to organizational policies related to patient safety, privacy (HIPAA), and quality assurance
