Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1690-$1820
- Location: Elmer, New Jersey
- Healthcare Setting: Acute care hospital laboratory
- Start Date: 7/6/2026
- Contract Duration: 13-week travel lab tech contract
- Schedule: 3:00 PM-11:00 PM or 11:00 PM-7:00 AM
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Shifts: 5 shifts per week
- Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Every other weekend and holiday
- Dress Code: Burgundy scrubs
- Charting/Systems: LIS / Cerner Millennium; Epic transition noted
- Equipment: Siemens and Sysmex experience preferred
Medical Lab Technician Job Requirements
- 3 years of experience as a Medical Lab Technician (MLT) in an acute care hospital setting
- Blood bank experience required
- ASCP certification required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Experience with Siemens and Sysmex laboratory equipment preferred
- Experience with Cerner Millennium and Epic electronic health record systems preferred
- Ability to float to Bridgeton Location if needed
- Previous travel lab experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment
Laboratory Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory testing and analysis in accordance with established protocols and quality standards
- Support blood bank operations and ensure accurate specimen handling and processing
- Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation and equipment
- Document results accurately within the laboratory information system (LIS)
- Collaborate with clinical and laboratory team members to support timely patient care
- Adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines
- Participate fully in required orientation and training activities
- Provide coverage on assigned evenings or nights, including every other weekend and holiday rotation
