Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license. Virginia licensure or multistate compact RN license preferred.
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience as an RN
• Experience in LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute care/rehabilitation settings preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission (LTAC RN assessment)
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and initiate discharge planning from admission
• Communicate changes in patient status to the care team to ensure continuity and patient safety
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees
• Adhere to hospital safety protocols and promote patient and staff safety
• Contribute to team building and maintain a supportive LTAC nursing environment
• Maintain professional growth through continuing education and self-study
