Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) Contract in Sylvania, Ohio

Join a collaborative LTAC travel nursing team in Sylvania, Ohio, providing evidence-based care to medically complex patients on a consistent 12-hour day-shift schedule. LTAC Travel RN Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Ohio
  • At least 1 year of professional RN experience required; two years of bedside clinical experience strongly preferred
  • Previous ICU and critical care nursing experience required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required before the first shift
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required before the first shift
  • Strong clinical judgment, patient assessment, communication, organization, and delegation skills
  • Ability to provide safe, compassionate care to medically complex patients and collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Long-Term Acute Care RN Responsibilities

  • Complete a comprehensive nursing assessment within eight hours of admission and use findings to develop an individualized plan of care.
  • Deliver direct patient care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Monitor patient condition, recognize changes in status, and communicate pertinent information promptly to providers, charge nurses, and other members of the care team.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and provide accurate, timely updates regarding patient progress and care needs.
  • Support patient rehabilitation goals through education, encouragement, treatment participation, and coordination of care.
  • Initiate discharge planning at admission and provide patient and family education in preparation for a safe transition.
  • Delegate appropriately and provide direction, training, and supervision to licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and orienting staff.
  • Promote patient and staff safety by following infection prevention, safe handling, fall prevention, workplace safety, and facility policies.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record.
  • Prioritize care activities, manage time effectively, monitor supplies, and contribute to efficient unit operations.
  • Assume charge responsibilities after orientation when requested and pursue ongoing professional development.
