Travel LPN Job Details
- Location: Falmouth, Massachusetts, on scenic Cape Cod
- Healthcare Setting: Long-term care and residential care
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,870–$1,970
- Start Date: November 10, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 6, 2027
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, generally five 8-hour shifts
- Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
- Shift Pattern: Primarily evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with some day shifts from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; every other weekend and holiday rotation required
- Work Arrangement: On-site
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Job Requirements
- Current, active, and unencumbered Massachusetts LPN license
- Graduation from an approved practical nursing program
- At least 1 year of LPN experience, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or a comparable residential care setting
- Current BLS, CPR, and AED certification
- Knowledge of nursing practices, medication administration, resident rights, and regulations applicable to long-term care
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and document care accurately
- Strong clinical judgment, organization, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect residents’ personal health information
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and meet the physical and sensory requirements of the role
Long-Term Care Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care and promote the health, safety, dignity, and comfort of residents
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered, following established safety and verification procedures
- Perform clinical services such as catheterization, tube feedings, suctioning, wound and dressing care, colostomy and drainage bag care, specimen collection, and range-of-motion exercises as needed
- Monitor and document vital signs, resident conditions, responses to care, and changes in status
- Communicate with physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary care team regarding treatment plans, orders, and resident needs
- Complete accurate documentation for admissions, transfers, discharges, medication administration, treatments, and nursing notes
- Review resident charts for medications, treatments, diets, and care-plan requirements
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of nursing assistants and support staff
- Participate in shift planning, resident and family orientation, physician rounds, surveys, and quality-of-care initiatives
- Provide health education and support to residents and family members
- Maintain adequate supplies and promptly report clinical or operational needs
- Support a respectful, collaborative environment through compassionate and professional service
