  • Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Setting: Acute Psych, Detox, Rehab, and Long-Term Care
  • Location: Norristown, PA 19403
  • Employment Type: Travel RN
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required; 3 of 6 major holidays required
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,020-$2,130
  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Orientation: Hospital orientation plus unit-based orientation across assigned areas

Job Requirements

  • Active RN license
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar nursing setting
  • Experience in residential rehab, psych, detox, acute care, or long-term care strongly preferred
  • BLS certification required
  • Comfort with IV starts and IV therapy
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and addiction counselors
  • Ability to remain professional, compassionate, and proactive in a high-accountability environment
  • Willingness to float between units as needed
  • Ability to comply with dress code and safety standards, including covered tattoos and no artificial nails

Responsibilities

  • Complete admissions when applicable
  • Administer medications and complete medication passes
  • Perform patient assessments and documentation in Cerner
  • Lead or support therapeutic groups, with a focus on medication education
  • Provide direct nursing care for patients with psychiatric, detox, rehab, and long-term care needs
  • Support patients with wound care, IV therapy, and medically assisted treatment as assigned
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to promote safe, effective treatment plans
  • Maintain a visible, engaged presence on the unit and respond promptly to patient needs
  • Assist with care in a low-violence but sometimes high-acuity environment while following established safety procedures
  • Float between units based on staffing and patient care needs
