  • Schedule: Alternates between 4x8-hour and 5x8-hour weeks; minimum of every other weekend required
  • Floating: Required to Memory Care and Post-Acute Care units as needed
  • Patient Population: Adults aged 60+ (senior care, geriatric nursing)

Qualifications & Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state-specific RN licensure required for travel nurse assignments)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience; Long Term Care (LTC) experience preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred
  • EPIC EMR experience within the past 2 years (required) — strong documentation skills
  • BLS certification (required)
  • Dementia Capable Care certification preferred (memory care expertise a plus)
  • Ability to work holidays as needed
  • Must not be allergic to cats (cat present on unit)
  • Reliable personal or rental transportation required (public transportation not accessible)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to long-term care and geriatric residents, focusing on safety, dignity, and quality of life
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and facility protocols
  • Thoroughly document all care using EPIC EMR (medication administration records, care plans, assessments)
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members, including LNAs/CNAs, therapists, social workers, and ancillary staff
  • Float to Memory Care and Post-Acute Care units as needed and support dementia-capable care practices
  • Participate in bi-weekly orientation and ongoing training to maintain clinical competencies
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and infection control standards
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and care teams regarding patient status and individualized care plans
