Job Requirements
- Active RN license in West Virginia or a valid Compact RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience; LTC or wound care experience preferred
- Current BLS certification
- Strong assessment, clinical documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Wound care certification (preferred, e.g., WCC/WOCN) or equivalent wound care training is a plus
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive wound assessments and individualized wound care for residents in a long-term care setting
- Develop, implement, and update care plans focused on wound management and pressure injury prevention
- Perform dressing changes and document wound healing progress, reporting changes to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Educate residents, families, and nursing staff on wound prevention, skin integrity, and proper wound care techniques
- Collaborate with physicians, physical/occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize resident outcomes
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, state and federal regulations, and LTC clinical standards
