Med-Surg RN Job Requirements
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
- At least 2 years of recent medical-surgical nursing experience
- Demonstrated trauma and post-operative nursing experience
- Ability to provide acute care nursing for adult patients with varied medical and surgical needs
- Willingness to float to units with comparable patient populations as needed
- Successful completion of required dysrhythmia and medication dosage calculation assessments before beginning the assignment
- Completion of all required employment screenings and Pennsylvania clearances before the start date
- Professional appearance and a flexible, friendly, team-oriented approach
Travel Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and post-operative patients
- Assess patient conditions, identify changes in status, and implement appropriate nursing interventions
- Care for patients with trauma, orthopedic, urologic, colorectal, and other surgical diagnoses
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
- Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and other clinical changes
- Collaborate with providers, therapists, nursing colleagues, patients, and families to coordinate patient care
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Epic
- Support safe patient transitions, discharge planning, and continuity of care
- Float to comparable units when needed while maintaining high standards of patient care
