• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
• Shift Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts
• Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,460 - $1,540
• Charting System: Epic
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Float Requirement: Required to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Orientation: 20 hours

Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg nursing experience
• Active Texas RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of submittal
• Current BLS certification
• Recent Epic experience within the last 6 months
• Experience working with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Comfortable floating to units of equal or lesser acuity
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Strong skills in isolation precautions/PPE, Med/Surg care, nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and peripheral line care/management

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients on a night shift schedule
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using Epic
• Support safe, effective care for a patient assignment of approximately 1:6
• Float as needed to appropriate units based on patient acuity
• Work closely with respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, physical therapy, social services, and rapid response teams
• Promote a safe, efficient, and compassionate patient experience in a well-coordinated hospital environment
