Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890 (Travel RN)
• Location: Freeport, Illinois (61032) — Illinois nursing jobs, Freeport IL nursing jobs
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 4, 2026 – August 3, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend required — night shift RN, Med/Surg RN
• Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
• Setting: Acute care, Med/Surg units (float to ICU/Tele as needed)
• Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each) with department-specific training

Travel Nurse Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required)
• BLS Certification from AHA (required)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg experience (post-operative recovery experience preferred)
• Experience with MEDITECH charting preferred (clinical documentation)
• Ability to float to ICU or Telemetry (Tele) units for Med/Surg overflow within scope
• First-time travel nurses welcome — Travel RN/Travel Nurse friendly
• Professional scrubs (any color)

Travel Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centered care across three Med/Surg units (3 East, 3 North, 2 North)
• Manage night shift nurse-to-patient ratios (typically 1:5–6)
• Care for post-operative, general medical, and orthopedic diagnoses — acute care RN responsibilities
• Collaborate with CNAs, respiratory therapists, charge nurses, and multidisciplinary clinical support teams
• Assist in management of respiratory support devices (BiPAP, High Flow, Vapotherm) with RT management
• Document care accurately using the MEDITECH electronic health record
• Participate in holiday rotation and every other weekend scheduling
• Complete department-specific orientation and ongoing training to maintain Med/Surg competency
