Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Location: Kirksville, Missouri (63501) — Missouri travel nurse job
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Med/Surg & Stepdown (21 beds) — medical-surgical nurse / step-down nurse role
• Patient Ratio: 1:4-6 (depends on acuity)
• EMR: MedHost
• Scrub Color: Any dark solid color

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• At least 1 year of RN experience required (registered nurse experience)
• 1 year of PCU/Stepdown and Med/Surg experience preferred — preferred clinical experience for travel RNs
• Active RN license required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• PALS required if assignment is extended
• Ability to float occasionally to critical care with low acuity patients
• Willingness to work at least one major holiday during the contract

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care as a Med/Surg Registered Nurse and Stepdown/PCU nurse
• Manage patient loads with ratios of 1:4-6, adjusting for acuity
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document patient care accurately using MedHost EMR (electronic medical record)
• Float to critical care units as needed for low acuity patients
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Participate in blocked scheduling and weekly guarantee requests as needed
