Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910 – $2,010
• Position: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) / Travel RN
• Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501 (Southeast Iowa)
• Assignment Duration: 11 weeks (May 11, 2026 – July 27, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed (option for 48 hours)
• Patient Population: Primarily adults; may include geriatric and pediatric patients
• Electronic Health Record: MediTech
• Support Staff: CNA, LPNs
• Patient Ratio: 1:6

Required Qualifications (Med/Surg RN)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa
• BLS certification required
• Mandatory reporter certification (Child and Adult)
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN clinical experience
• Travel nursing experience preferred but not required
• Ability to float within a 25-mile radius if needed
• Background checks (criminal and child abuse) must be fully cleared prior to start
• Recent titers within the last 12 months
• 10-panel drug screening (including opiates)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult and geriatric patients
• Perform patient assessments, monitor conditions, and document care in MediTech EHR
• Administer medications and treatments according to facility protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and support staff to ensure seamless patient care
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, safety standards, and mandatory reporting requirements
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families
• May be required to float to other units within a 25-mile radius
