Job Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Med/Surg RN experience required)
• BLS Certification required prior to first shift
• Minimum of 2 years of recent bedside clinical experience in Med/Surg or rehabilitation nursing
• Strong assessment, clinical documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive Med/Surg nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans for rehabilitation patients
• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences and contribute to patient rehabilitation and discharge planning
• Initiate patient and family education from day of admission to support successful transitions of care
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment and support team building and effective communication
• Identify opportunities for professional growth and pursue continuing education in Med/Surg and rehabilitation nursing
