Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry in Marion, Illinois
Join a 22-bed Neuro Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit in Marion, Illinois, as a Travel Registered Nurse (RN) providing expert care to neuro and neurosurgical patients. This 13-week travel nursing assignment offers 12-hour day shifts, guaranteed weekly hours, and the opportunity to care for patients with complex neurological and medical needs in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Travel Nursing Job Details
- Position: Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Telemetry
- Specialty: Neuro Medical/Surgical Telemetry

- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 28, 2026
- Shift: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM; 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Duration: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week, excluding orientation and applicable facility holidays
- Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4; charge nurse carries a patient assignment
- Floating: May float to the medical unit to support patient care needs
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,040–$2,150
- Charting System: Recent EPIC experience required
- Uniform: Navy blue scrubs
Travel RN Job Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 2 years of strong Medical/Surgical Telemetry nursing experience, including recent Neuro experience
- At least 1 previous travel nursing assignment
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Current AHA ACLS certification
- Current NIHSS certification
- Recent EPIC charting experience
- Associate degree or nursing certificate required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
- Strong patient assessment, prioritization, communication, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to adapt to changing patient-care needs and work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Neuro Telemetry Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neuro, neurosurgical, and general medical patients, including patients with CVAs and those recovering from elective back or neck surgery and cerebral angiograms
- Complete thorough neurological assessments, NIHSS evaluations, and dysphagia screenings
- Interpret basic telemetry rhythms and promptly communicate changes in patient condition
- Manage strict intake and output, urinary catheters, straight catheterization, and indwelling drains
- Initiate and titrate heparin infusions according to established protocols
- Administer blood and blood products safely and accurately
- Perform venipuncture, obtain blood cultures, and manage NG tubes
- Monitor stable medication infusions, including Protonix and diuretics
- Care for medical overflow patients when needed and float to the medical unit as assigned
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC while collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team
