Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Assignment in Anchorage, Alaska
Med/Surg Tele RN travel job in Anchorage, AK: Join a high-acuity acute care team in Anchorage, Alaska, where mountain views, outdoor adventure, and a vibrant city atmosphere create an exciting place to work and explore. - Shift: 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Orientation: 24 hours
- Charting System: Epic
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,050-$2,160
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Patient Ratio: 5:1
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Alaska RN license or compact license must be in hand at submission
- At least 1 year of RN experience required
- BLS certification required
- Med-Surg and telemetry nursing experience required
- Comfort working with telemetry monitoring and adult medical-surgical patients
- Ability to float to like units within scope as needed
- Oncology experience preferred, but not required
- Experience with chemotherapy administration is preferred
- First-time travel nurses are welcome
Med-Surg Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to Med/Surg Tele patients
- Monitor telemetry and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, complete assessments, and support care plans
- Manage peripheral lines and provide oxygen administration and non-invasive airway support as needed
- Use rapid response and code team resources when clinically indicated
- Maintain isolation precautions and PPE standards
- Collaborate with IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, therapy services, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Float within scope to support unit needs and patient care continuity
- Support oncology-related care and chemo administration when appropriate and within competency
