Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active RN license with eligibility to work in Alaska; pending license may be accepted if the application is submitted promptly
- At least 1 year of recent registered nurse experience required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with med/surg telemetry patients preferred
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Experience with rapid response and code team collaboration
- Comfort working with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Epic or similar electronic health record charting experience required
- Ability to adapt to a collaborative care model and support floating within scope
Med-Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality bedside nursing care for med-surg telemetry patients
- Monitor telemetry rhythms and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Assess patients, develop care plans, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Support patients with oxygen therapy, isolation precautions, and peripheral line care
- Recognize and escalate clinical concerns using rapid response and code resources when needed
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge preparation, and recovery goals
- Float to similar medical-surgical units as needed to support facility needs
