Job Details

• Position: Travel Med/Surg Telemetry RN / Registered Nurse (Float Pool)
• Location: Clinton, MD 20735 (Prince George's County) — easy access to Washington, D.C. and the DMV
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (March 23, 2026 – June 22, 2026)
• Shift: Day shift — 3x12-hour (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period (every other weekend)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,710 – $1,800
• Charting / EMR: Cerner EMR
• Patient Population: Adults & Geriatrics (Med/Surg & Telemetry)
• Openings: 2 travel nurse positions available
• Flu Vaccine: Required (no exemptions)

Qualifications & Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience; community hospital experience preferred
• Travel Nursing: Previous travel RN experience required (travel nurse jobs preferred)
• Licensure: Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license accepted (pending MD license may be accepted for later start dates)
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) and NIHSS required; ACLS preferred
• EKG Competency: Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam (?80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms)
• Clinical Skills: Telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia recognition/management, post-MI care, IV/PICC line management, blood product administration, heparin drips, feeding tube care, chest tubes, trach care, BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, wound care/wound vac, isolation/PPE
• References: Two (2) supervisor references required
• Preferred: Previous charge nurse or float pool experience

Core Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care as a Telemetry RN and Med/Surg Registered Nurse across assigned units within the float pool
• Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms; escalate changes quickly to the interdisciplinary care team
• Perform comprehensive physical assessments, administer medications and blood products, and develop individualized care plans
• Manage IVs, PICCs, heparin drips, oxygen delivery, non-invasive ventilation, chest tubes, tracheostomies, wound vacs, and complex post-op care
• Document accurately and efficiently in Cerner EMR to support continuity of care and compliance
• Collaborate with allied health partners (Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, PT/OT, Radiology, Social Work, Rapid Response) to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to units within your competency and maintain flexibility to support varying acuity levels
