Travel Nurse Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,950 – $2,060
- Position: Travel Med/Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Paducah, KY 42003 (Western Kentucky)
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/4/2026 – End: 8/1/2026)
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours per Week: 36 or 48 (approved)
- Unit: 43-bed Med/Surg Tele (cardiac telemetry, step-down)
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics — cardiac, oncology, step-down
Required Qualifications — Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current RN license in Kentucky or a Compact RN license (required)
- BLS certification (required prior to direct patient care)
- 1 year of RN experience (required); acute care or telemetry experience preferred
- Ability to read cardiac strips and perform dysrhythmia exam (dysrhythmia exam required at orientation; study guide available)
- ACLS certification (preferred)
- NIH Stroke Certification (preferred)
- Strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and ability to work in a fast-paced hospital setting
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze telemetry and clinical data, and develop individualized care plans
- Provide safe medication administration and titration per hospital policy
- Monitor cardiac telemetry, interpret cardiac rhythms, and respond to arrhythmias and clinical changes
- Manage patients with multi-system organ failure, chest tubes, and advanced respiratory support (BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow oxygen)
- Coordinate patient care and act as a primary point of contact across departments to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including patient care techs (PCTs), health unit coordinators (HUCs), and monitor techs
- Advocate for patient safety, participate in unit-based quality improvement, and document care accurately
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning with cultural sensitivity and professionalism
