• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940

• Position Type: Travel RN / Contract (Travel Nursing Jobs)
• Setting: General Surgical Unit (32 beds) – Med/Surg Telemetry
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 5/11/2026 – End: 8/9/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour Nights (19:00–07:00), every other weekend, holidays as required
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours/week)
• EMR: Meditech (experience with Meditech preferred)
• Pto/Perks: Parking available; Solid navy scrubs dress code
• Float Requirement: Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing required (ADN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or compact state (no temporary licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS or Red Cross certification required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (will consider 18 months with at least 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry)
• Proven experience in postoperative nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and medical-surgical practices
• Ability to float to other units/hospitals and adapt to variable clinical settings

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional postoperative and medical-surgical care for general surgical patients
• Monitor patients continuously using telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac and physiological status
• Manage pain, mobility, wound care, and bedside procedures for a diverse patient population
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, hospitalists, and family practice physicians to coordinate patient care
• Maintain a healing environment tailored to each patient’s needs and promote patient education and discharge planning
• Care for up to 6 patients per shift (1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio) and float as required
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech electronic medical record
