Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist (MT) / Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
- ASCP certification preferred; AMT or equivalent certification or state licensure accepted
- Prior blood bank (BB) experience preferred for this role
- Familiarity with clinical laboratory testing areas (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, blood bank) and quality control (QC) procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with laboratory and clinical staff
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and accurate documentation practices
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work night shifts as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Perform general clinical laboratory testing and blood bank (BB) testing in a hospital setting
- Operate, maintain, and perform routine QC on laboratory equipment according to protocols
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting of test results and maintain precise laboratory records
- Follow CLIA/CAP and hospital quality and safety procedures to support compliance
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care
- Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and document corrective actions; use Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) as required
