Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of medical billing experience, preferably in a clinic or ambulatory care setting
• Hands?on experience with claims submission, AR follow?up, denials management, and insurance verification
• Familiarity billing for Pharma, LTC, Hospice, and Clinic specialties is a plus
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD?10 coding conventions and payer?specific requirements
• Experience with EHR and billing systems preferred (Athena, eClinicalWorks, Epic, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and clear communication
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality best practices

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims accurately and timely to payers and clearinghouses; manage claims adjudication and payer portals
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to billing to reduce denials
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, denials, and underpayments; prepare and submit appeals
• Perform AR follow?up and workflow tasks to reduce outstanding receivables and improve days in A/R
• Maintain up?to?date patient and billing documentation in the EHR/billing system
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to streamline revenue cycle and front?desk processes
• Ensure compliance with payer guidelines, coding standards, and HIPAA regulations
