Neuro Registered Nurse – Travel RN Job in Portland, Oregon (97225)

- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,790 - $1,880
- Schedule: Every other weekend required; on-call may be required
- Setting: Acute care neuro/medical-surgical unit
- Orientation: Included prior to start
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at submission
- Compact RN license required at submission, if applicable
- At least 1 year of recent neuro nursing experience required
- Strong neuro skill set is a hard-stop requirement
- NIHSS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Experience with Epic charting required
- Ability to work in a high-acuity environment with a typical 1:4 patient ratio
- Must be comfortable floating to other units based on skill set as needed
- Reliable transportation required
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care for neuro patients in an acute care setting
- Complete neurological assessments and monitor for changes in patient condition
- Support patients with CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and related diagnoses
- Administer medications and maintain safe, accurate medication practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
- Use Epic to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress
- Respond appropriately to clinical changes and assist with rapid response/code situations as needed
- Follow isolation precautions and other safety protocols to protect patients and staff
- Adapt to changing unit needs, including floating when required
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care with professionalism and confidence
