Job Requirements (Physician Assistant)

• Licensure: Active Illinois Physician Assistant license required
• Experience: Prior inpatient, surgical PA, or neurosurgery PA experience preferred
• Clinical Skills: Strong patient assessment, order entry, EMR documentation, care coordination, and discharge planning
• Teamwork: Ability to work closely with neurosurgeons and an interdisciplinary inpatient care team (nursing, therapy, case management)

Responsibilities (Inpatient Neurosurgery PA)

• Round on neurosurgery inpatients and help manage daily clinical needs
• Perform patient assessments, enter orders as appropriate, and complete timely documentation in the EMR
• Coordinate care with nursing, therapy, case management, and other hospital services
• Support discharge planning, including patient/family education and follow-up coordination
• Provide outpatient clinic support as needed
• Collaborate with two neurosurgeons and one additional APP to support a shared inpatient census (approx. 20–25 patients)
