  • Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
  • Float Requirement: May float to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, or Pediatric ED as needed
  • Orientation: 12 hours

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience
  • Level III NICU experience preferred in a high-acuity neonatal setting
  • Active RN license in hand at the time of submission; compact license required if applicable
  • BLS and NRP Advanced certification required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Ability to care for neonates with complex diagnoses including prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and HIE
  • Strong clinical skills in neonatal monitoring, ventilator support, and medication administration
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based, fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate, and skilled care to neonates in a high-acuity NICU
  • Monitor and manage infants requiring respiratory support, thermoregulation, and specialized feeding plans
  • Assist with advanced neonatal interventions including central line care, chest tube management, ventilator support, and arterial line monitoring
  • Administer medications, blood products, and therapies according to neonatal protocols
  • Support families through education, reassurance, and patient-centered communication
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive outcomes for fragile infants
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit standards in Epic
  • Adapt to float assignments as needed while maintaining excellent patient care
