NICU Registered Nurse Travel Assignment in Lubbock, TX | Level IV NICU

This NICU Registered Nurse travel assignment offers the opportunity to care for critically ill newborns in a Level IV NICU while working alongside a multidisciplinary pediatric healthcare team.

- Scheduling Style: Self-scheduling and block scheduling
- Float Requirement: May float to nearby pediatric, PICU, or pediatric ED areas as needed
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of NICU nursing experience required
- 2+ years of NICU experience strongly preferred
- Level III or higher NICU experience preferred
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state or compact RN license in hand at submission
- BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
- Epic charting experience required
- Ability to care for neonates with complex conditions and variable acuity
- Strong neonatal assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Availability to work assigned holiday requirements and follow scheduling expectations
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled, compassionate nursing care to neonates in a high-acuity NICU setting
- Monitor and manage patients with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical diagnoses
- Perform neonatal interventions including ventilator support, CPAP, HFNC, IV therapy, blood product administration, and thermoregulation support
- Support feeding, developmental care, family education, and discharge readiness planning
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver safe, effective pediatric critical care
- Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient progress in Epic
- Respond effectively to changing patient conditions and maintain a calm, focused approach in a busy children’s hospital unit
- Float to appropriate pediatric units when needed based on staffing needs
