- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Shifts Per Week: 3
- Weekly Hours: 36
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Schedule Style: Self-scheduling with block scheduling support
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
- Floating: May float to related pediatric units as needed
- Orientation: 40 hours
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
- Compact RN license required at submission if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Level III NICU experience preferred; Level IV NICU experience is a plus
- Epic electronic medical record (EMR) charting experience required
- Current BLS and NRP Advanced certifications required
- Strong clinical experience caring for neonates with complex medical needs
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity neonatal care environment
- Availability to work assigned holidays as required by the schedule
- 2 references covering 1 year within the last 3 years required; Charge RNs/Leads may be included if applicable
Responsibilities
- Provide expert neonatal nursing care in a busy NICU setting
- Monitor infant status and respond quickly to changes in condition
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and respiratory support interventions as ordered
- Care for infants with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and other neonatal conditions
- Perform thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Manage common NICU equipment and procedures, including IVs, central lines, ventilators, CPAP, and oxygen delivery systems
- Educate and support families throughout the neonatal intensive care experience
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Float to related pediatric units when needed and contribute as a flexible, team-oriented RN
