- Shift Duration: 12-hour rotating shifts
- Schedule: Days and nights; 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Setting: Level IV NICU
- Float Requirement: May float to other pediatric units caring for patients under 12 months of age, including PICU
- Experience: 2 years of NICU Level III/IV experience required, including at least 1 full year in a Level IV NICU
- Charting System: Epic experience required
Job Requirements
- Active RN license in Wisconsin or compact licensure eligibility
- BLS and NRP certification from AHA required
- Minimum 2 years of total NICU Level III/IV experience
- At least 1 year of Level IV NICU experience
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Experience with post-op patients, g-tubes, trach/vent management, and invasive/noninvasive ventilation
- Strong proficiency with Epic documentation and EMR charting
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends as needed, and float when required
- Willingness to complete pre-start telemetry testing and onboarding requirements
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality neonatal intensive care for critically ill infants from admission to discharge
- Monitor and support newborns requiring advanced diagnostic and therapeutic interventions
- Care for complex medical and surgical neonatal cases, including cardiac, neurologic, respiratory, and post-operative needs
- Manage ventilators, oxygen delivery systems, lines, tubes, and advanced neonatal therapies
- Administer medications, perform assessments, and respond to changes in patient condition with urgency and precision
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, social services, and other interdisciplinary team members
- Support and educate families with compassion in a family-centered care environment
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and uphold patient safety standards at all times
