Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) – Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) | Columbus, Ohio

Join a specialized inpatient oncology nursing team in Columbus, Ohio, as a Registered Nurse caring for medically complex adults receiving hematology, oncology, bone marrow transplant, and cellular therapies. Oncology RN Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,160–$2,270
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Assignment End Date: February 22, 2027
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: Nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Openings: 2
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Scheduling: Night assignments may include rotating unit needs; floating to other medical-surgical oncology units may be required

Bone Marrow Transplant Nurse Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of Registered Nurse experience, including current or recent acute-care inpatient hematology/oncology experience
• Strong experience caring for patients with leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, myelodysplastic syndromes, and other blood dyscrasias
• Current oncology nursing experience within the past 12 months is required
• Valid compact or Ohio Registered Nurse license in hand at the time of submission
• Basic Life Support certification required
• Oncology Nursing Society or Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation chemotherapy certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification preferred
• Epic electronic medical record experience required
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Demonstrated competency with chemotherapy administration, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, PICC management, telemetry, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Two professional references required, including at least one supervisor, manager, director, or other formal leader
• Flu vaccination required; medical exemptions may be considered

Inpatient Oncology Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for adult medical-surgical and progressive-care oncology patients
• Care for patients undergoing autologous, syngeneic, and allogeneic stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy
• Administer chemotherapy, blood, and blood products according to established safety protocols
• Assess and manage central lines, implanted ports, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, and sterile dressings
• Monitor telemetry and recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias and other clinical changes
• Identify abnormal laboratory values, signs of sepsis, graft-versus-host disease, graft rejection, infection, and other oncology-related complications
• Apply appropriate isolation precautions and infection-prevention practices for immunocompromised patients
• Provide symptom management for nausea, vomiting, pain, and other treatment-related effects
• Use rapid response resources and escalate changes in patient condition promptly
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Epic
• Collaborate with providers, pharmacists, therapists, interpreters, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
• Float to other medical-surgical oncology units as needed to support patient care and staffing priorities
