Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements
- Operating room surgical technologist or OR Tech experience
- Previous Surgical First Assist experience required
- Orthopedic surgery experience required
- Current certification as an operating room surgical technician
- Current CPR certification
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and perioperative procedures
- Ability to participate in rotating call coverage, including weekend call
Operating Room Surgical Technologist Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled procedures
- Provide scrub and first-assist support during orthopedic and other surgical cases
- Maintain a sterile field and support strict infection prevention practices
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the perioperative team throughout surgical procedures
- Handle surgical instruments and supplies safely and efficiently
- Assist with operating room turnover, equipment readiness, and inventory management
- Participate in rotating call coverage and respond to urgent surgical needs as assigned
