Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,450–$2,580
- Location: Bristol, Connecticut
- Healthcare Setting: Acute-care Operating Room
- Start Date: October 5, 2026
- End Date: January 4, 2027
- Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Schedule: Four shifts per week with an on-call rotation
- Shift Duration: 8 Hour Any; exact shift assignments and times may vary based on department scheduling needs
- Call Requirements: Weeknight call from 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, plus rotating Saturday or Sunday call from 7:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.; a 30-minute response time is required
- Department: Eight operating room suites with approximately 15–25 cases per day
- Charting System: MEDITECH
- Orientation: Three days of department-specific orientation
- Dress Code: Turquoise scrubs
Operating Room RN Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Connecticut
- Minimum of 5 years of Operating Room nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong perioperative nursing experience supporting a variety of surgical procedures
- Ability to participate in the required call rotation and respond within 30 minutes
- Operating Room scrubbing experience is not required
Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care throughout the perioperative experience
- Prepare patients, operating rooms, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures
- Support surgical cases across urology, gynecology, robotics, orthopedics, spine, plastics, and bariatrics
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the perioperative team
- Monitor patient status, maintain a sterile environment, and respond promptly to changing clinical needs
- Document patient care accurately in MEDITECH
- Participate in scheduled weekday, weekend, and holiday call coverage as assigned
- Follow department policies, safety standards, and evidence-based perioperative practices
