Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) Travel Nursing Job in York, Pennsylvania

Bring your operating room expertise to a high-acuity trauma hospital in York, PA, as a travel OR RN. This 13-week assignment is ideal for an experienced perioperative nurse who can confidently scrub and circulate, work independently across multiple specialties, and provide safe, efficient surgical care. You will support a busy general operating room with robotics, trauma, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, thoracic, and other surgical services.

Travel Nursing Job Details

• Location: York, Pennsylvania 17403
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,170–$2,290
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Shift: 10-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
• Schedule: Four shifts per week; 40 hours per week
• Call: Approximately 2–3 call shifts within each six-week scheduling matrix, with a 30-minute response requirement
• Weekends: Approximately 3–4 weekend shifts within each six-week scheduling matrix; weekend shifts may be days, evenings, or nights
• Holidays: As needed; shifts may be days, evenings, or nights
• Floating: Required as needed
• Operating Room Environment: General OR with 18 rooms and a daily census of approximately 50–60 cases; excludes open-heart and neurosurgical procedures

Operating Room RN Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse with at least 3 years of operating room or perioperative nursing experience
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• At least Level II trauma experience required; Level I trauma experience strongly preferred
• Current RN licensure eligible for practice in Pennsylvania and a clean license history
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Proficiency with both scrubbing and circulating preferred
• Independent clinical competency with the Da Vinci Xi surgical robot; experience with the Da Vinci DV5 is a plus
• Independent experience in robotic general, gynecologic, thoracic, and urologic procedures
• Ability to function independently in robotics, orthopedics, general surgery, GYN, urology, bariatrics, ENT, plastics, vascular, thoracic surgery, and trauma
• Thoracic experience should exclude cardiac and open-heart surgery
• Willingness to care for patients with a variety of needs, including patients requiring additional infection-control precautions
• Ability to comply with applicable COVID-19 and influenza vaccination requirements or approved exemption policies

Perioperative Nursing Responsibilities

• Provide safe, comprehensive perioperative nursing care throughout the surgical experience
• Scrub and circulate for a wide range of adult and pediatric surgical procedures
• Prepare operating rooms, verify equipment, maintain sterile technique, and support surgical time-out and universal protocol processes
• Manage robotic surgical equipment, including the Da Vinci Xi and DV5 systems
• Support complex general, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, bariatric, ENT, plastics, vascular, thoracic, and trauma cases
• Perform accurate specimen handling, labeling, documentation, counts, and medication and blood-product safety checks
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary support services
• Respond to call assignments within the required 30-minute timeframe
• Adapt to weekend, holiday, and floating assignments based on department needs
• Maintain readiness to respond to emergency situations, including trauma and malignant hyperthermia protocols
